About This Site

Welcome to Country Realist!

This site is all about sharing my experience of moving to the Peak District and building a new life.  On this site you’ll find posts about everything to do with country living, from keeping chickens and taking on an overgrown allotment, to local customs, pubs, and dogs.  I’ll also share recipes and what I hope are useful hints and tips. If you’d like to read about something specific, please let me know – I’d love to hear from you!

Some nice pictures here!
